Individual College Navigtion Support Services
The Individualized College Navigation Support Services (iCNSS) is currently available for past, current, future students who needs additional support in navigating the academic process. These sessions are designed to assist you in 3 (45 minute sessions) with our dedicated Academic Transition Specialist. Each session is designed to bring clarity and provide practical tools to achieve your intended goals. We are ready to equip you with practical tools on how to organically create a plan of action that is specific to you. Simply complete the interest form to get started.
Summer Youth Internship Program
Through the partnership with the City of Miami Gardens and Miami-Dade County Public Schools, we are proud to serve as the hiring hub for teens in Miami Gardens along with its surrounding cities again this year. This is a program that provides high school aged teens from 14 to 18 with on the job training over the summer to help build soft and hard skills that are necessary in the corporate world. This is a great opportunity for NAF students, Magnet Students or students seeking summer employment in industry fields in the ares of business, childcare, fashion, IT, finance, fundraising and more. Interviews will begin taking place the second week of May. We will only take 15 students this year to ensure they get the experience needed to secure a solid letter of recommendation while enhancing their resume.
IBTG Healthy-Active-Teens Program
Previous Program: Through the partnership with Alliance for Healthier Generation through Concerned African Women, we are proud to bring to South Florida The IBTG "Healthy-Active-Teens" Program. This is a program that provides high school aged teens from 9th to 12th grade an opportunity to discover, create and implement strategies now when they are young to become healthier adults in the future. This program is for four consecutive weeks beginning April 2nd. The program includes access to personal trainers, weekly weigh-ins, nutrition plan, materials, fitness journal, program mentor and more for FREE (to all participants who receive free/reduced lunch and & BMI guidelines). Applications will be available only during Information Session on TBD.
iAMPS College Navigation Mentoring Program
iAMPS (Inspired to Achieve My Potential Scholastically) is a College Navigation Mentoring Program where high school age students (9th-12th grade) meet for one week (5 DAYS) remotely to include 5 local Campus Tours, and materials. Students who participate in program are mentored for the remainder of the school year. Registration will be open June 2020. However, you are able to stay connected by completing the interest form below for next year.
Vacation Bible Summer (VBS) Program
The I Bridge the Gap Vacation Bible Summer Program is a is a FREE (2) week winter program divided in two cohorts for youth (10) middle school or (10) high school. It includes the all materials, extracurricular activities, and more. This program is closed to the children from our previous family participants in the 2015-2020 academic school year. Applications for the 2021 - 2022 school year will be distributed in August 2021.
After School Academy (A.S.A)
Beginning Fall 2021: The after school academy is available for high school at risk youth with a weighted grade point average of 1.5 to 2.5 attending one of the public, private or charter schools within the South Florida and Georgia region. Sessions are designed to provide participants with strategies and resources that will aid them in developing and implementing action steps to successfully matriculate from high school to college.
