Summer Food Program

(2016) The Other Side Movement was our 2016 Summer Food Program Sponsor. Our students were able to enjoy a hot meal daily as well as a snack. As a result of our partnership, we were able to provide up to two free meals daily to feed over 900 children throughout the summer as a result of the meals provided at our site.

(2017) Flipany was our 2017 Summer Food Program Sponsor. Our students were able to enjoy nutritious meals daily as well as a snack. As a result of our partnership, we were able to provide up to two free meals daily to feed over 90 children throughout the summer during our Summer Biz Camp program.

(2020) Flipany is the 2020 Summer Food Program Sponsor. As a result of COVID-19, we are not a site, however, our President relentlessly volunteers at her church (Christian Life Center, Ft Lauderdale) to help pack nutritious meals daily for 650 children weekly in the greater Fort Lauderdale area.

We are approved for the Ready to Work Program and Summer Youth Employment Program as well. Participants are placed at our Miami Gardens branch office where they are placed in either a leadership, support staff or clerical position. MDCPS Summer Youth Internship Program

Global Youth Empowerment Movement, Inc. continues to serve as one of the many companies that house high school students (Miami Norland Senior, Miami Carol City & Turner Tech) over the summer for the Summer Youth Internship Program. These students are placed in different departments and organizations that served as our community partners in this endeavor.

We have partnered with Arts for Learning, Miami to provide one-on-one and group sessions on College Navigation Strategies for the high school interns. These sessions occur during the Fall and Spring semesters each academic calendar year since 2017. We are now providing our individualized services remotely to assist with the needs and changes due to COVID-19.

We have partnered with Federation of Families, Miami to provide group sessions for their Positive Youth Development (PYD) After School program. These sessions occur during the summer term for 6 to 8 weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We are now providing our individualized services remotely to assist with the needs and changes due to COVID-19.
